2022 WheelWOD Champion Derek Weida joins me as a repeat guest in this episode. Derek was my 1st ever guest! Derek is CrossFit and a competitor in the adaptive lower division. Despite being an amputee, Derek is such a positive, grateful, and strong character who has overcome life’s adversities and inspired people for a long time.

A premiere athlete his entire life, Adam was a tri-sport athlete at Great Bridge High School and received the NSCAA/Adidas All-American award for soccer in 2008
Adam was the first to complete a 500-lb back squat, run a sub-5 minute mile and then do this all in the same day. He also recounts his experience at Leadville 100 which is running at high altitude: how he adjusted to the higher elevation, what symptoms of "altitude sickness" he experienced — and why his food plan backfired.
